A Letter to my Grandparents on Grandparent’s Day

Growing up I was blessed with a lot of grandparents. I had my mom’s parents, my dad’s parents, and my mom’s step-dad, in addition to great-grandparents as well. Some of my fondest memories are times spent with my grandparents and I feel so incredibly lucky that I’ve been able to have those experiences and relationships.

On this grandparents day, I’d like to say thank you to mine. Thank you for your constant love and support, for always being a shoulder to lean on or cry on, for offering the best advice, and making the most delicious food {let me tell ya, my dad’s mom makes a mean biscuits & gravy}. Thank you for putting all your faith into me and guiding me to make those huge life decisions that adults have to make. Thank you for raising my parents into the honorable, supportive, and loving people they are.

All the sleepovers when I was younger, making popcorn at all hours of the night, watching movies, and spending an entire week or more up north with you, will always be some of the best memories I have. Even more so when Grandma wouldn’t let me have candy before dinner but Grandpa would sneak me some and say it was our little secret. Don’t worry, Grandpa, your secret is still safe with me! 😉

There have been countless family vacations that hold a spot in my heart because of all the quality time we were able to spend together. A week in Florida spent with Grandpa W., going to Disney World and the ocean; those times are forever etched into my mind. I swear, my Grandpa had more energy than we did walking around Disney World all day long, plus riding rides.

Thank you for blessing me with the huge family that we have; my aunts, uncles, cousins, and of course my parents. Thank you for always putting your family first, for showing us all what it’s like to live a humble and fulfilling life, for teaching us how to be generous, kind-hearted people. The life lessons that you have taught me are truly invaluable.

Most importantly, I’d like to thank you for being YOU. You are the heart of our family and truly the greatest people that I know. I am so incredibly blessed to call you MINE! Your unconditional love is what inspires me to be the best person I can be and I am forever grateful for you all. I love you!!
